Welcome to Energize Student's 'Why My School ROCKS' Student Contest
Contest Background
If you are a teenager (14 - 19 yrs old), we want to hear why your school ROCKS! We've asked students what they would change about their high school and how they would change it. We listened to their issues and now it's time to provide successful solutions on what is currently working in high schools across the nation. Here is your chance to help influence other schools and students worldwide! You have the power to make real positive change, just enter this contest and help make a difference. Remember, it only takes one small voice to make a huge difference!
How does it work?

Students were asked to choose from one of five hot topics that we've gathered over the years from students' point of views. We listened and gathered information and now we want to hear what is currently working in your school.
* Lack of career-related courses
* Bullying / Meanness
* Lack of curriculum
* Use of technology in schools
* Lack of college preparation
Students wrote essays based on one of the hot topics above, and told us what successful program is currently working in their school that makes the high school experience more valuable to them. A short video synopsis of each essay accompanied all submissions.
Energize Students chose the top essays for the voting period (November 19 - 26, 2012). The top 3 essays that receive the most votes will win cash prizes of up to $800.
All submissions confirm that students have received parental consent to enter the "Why My School ROCKS" Contest and that all students are between the ages of 14 and 19 years old. Those students who qualify for the voting period will be required to submit a completed Contest Consent Form by parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
Voting Rules
You must be registered to vote and may vote only once per day during the voting period. Energize Students reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time to preserve the integrity of the contest if voting discrepancies occur.
Are there prizes?
Yes! Energize Students will award the winners with prize money. This is your opportunity to support your favorite submissions and programs with 1st place $800, 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $300 from Energize Students. For more details on the awards, please visit the Winners Page.
